Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actor in film television and stage since the late 1970s. She is a talented thespian who has been active professionally from her early teens for the past 27 years. She first appeared on stage as a character in a production in 1990 of The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) Off-Broadway. The Perfect Tribute was her first TV appearance one year later. Her biggest break in her professional career happened in 1992, as she was a role in the movie Basic Instinct. The Firm is where she made her debut as the female star opposite Tom Cruise & Gene Hackman. Through the 1990s Gwyneth worked alongside Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Recenty, she played Dr Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
